Sismano, or Sosmano, in 1322 belong to Todi land register, it was described as a castle of "21 fires" and it was considered one of the many fortress overseeing the city. During the centuries the feud has been property of Pope Bonifacio VII and Pope Clemente XII, member of Corsini family that still now owns it. One heir of that family had skilfully renovated the medieval town, converting it into a a wonderful structure that offer to guests11 full optional and very fascinating suites. The renovation of such a old (ninetheenth century) building that rise inside Sismano estate, allowed to make apartments of different sizes, that can also receive disabled persons. From the castle's cellars, as well, they made the restaurant "The two Popes", where is possible to taste the typical umbrian dishes, with meals based on hunting meat coming from our farm. Thanx to a diligent renovation, it was possible, after few years, give back the right value to a historical place that now is sparkling again for its beauty, that gives hospitality to tourists coming from the whole world.

The company spreads for one thousand hectars where from, if you are lucky, you can see typical wild animals of Umbria: pheasants, wild boars and hares. The owners of "I Poggi" immovables will have the chance ot taking part in hunting that include, depending on the period, the hunting of different kinds of meat, including wild boar. One of the most required and appreciated huntings are to germans that take place around Cinella lake. When both spring and summer come, from March to July, is moreover possible to practise with gun dog training: this kind of activity is reserved to take place in a privileged area inside the Reserve.

This restaurant is well- known because of its local cook, expecially for the game grown there, produced by Sismano Farm. Lunch, dinners by candle light in front of a crackling fire, where meat is cooked according to the very old cook tradition of Umbria, give a relaxing atmosphere and memorable days. Made out of that once upon a time were the canteens and stables of the castle, the restaurant is named after the two Popes that owned Sismano in the past centuries: Benedetto Caetani, Bonifacio VIII and Lorenzo Corsini, mostly known as Clemente XII. An exclusive place where you can finish the days spent at the open air hunting, walking, in a place where nature and culinary art meet.
